I'm going to fit my rear windows soon. Twice in the past, my rear windows have had the piano hinge on top of the rubber window seal, but this doesn't really serve much purpose except stopping the paint getting scratched. Is it a common trick to attach the window that way? Alternately, is there anything I can put between the hinge and the bodywork for any reason? Thanks. ![]() |

I was thinking more along the lines of some thin rubber, or cork. I don't want to go as far as sikaflex though, in case the window has tocome out. ![]() |

The window gets screwed on first, then the rubber goes in. ![]() |

![]() If you want to put something down between the hinge and the panel, try a bead of windscreen sealant, not silicon. |
