hey everyone,
i have many a queston for you experts. :D

1. when converting a 998 to 1100 do you only need crank and pistons?
2.when painting do you paint with all the hinges and doors etc on the car?
3. will a standard 998 appreciate a 12g295 head and 1.5" su
4. should you get new pistons when doing a rebuild even if the pistons are in good nic?
5. has anyone used speaker carpet as their car carpet? pics?

1 yes all you need is the crank and pistons.
2 I reakon you should take em off, that way you can fix whatever rust is underneith the hindges and give it a good coat of paint, that way there will be no issues with rust under your hindges in the future,
3 Yes it would, all powers made above the block so yes it would. Providing you have piston rings that actually seal.
4 Yes you can get a good set of pistons etc for under $200.
5 I DONT KNOW :D

take the doors off to paint it properly.

speaker carpet would make poor carpet,
proper carpet sets are not expensive anyway.

I agree with what he said.
With #4 if you can afford new pistons get them but if cash is really tight and the old pistons are still really good you might be able to get away with it but I am not an expert. With #5 yes you could use it BUT that stuff loves catching and holding on to all the little bits of dirt, leaves and cr@p so it would get dirty quick and it would be hard to clean. Also I don't think it would last that long either.
