I've only ever used the red seals since they came out a million years ago. Never had a problem.

my engine is a fresh rebuld about 1500ks ago

All clearances checked and tripple checked, Surfaces checked
i have all the special tools to fit the seal so i know it went on properly

The only thing i did not replace was the primary gear bushes

How many crank case breathers have you fitted?

& do you "KNOW" for sure--> for certain,,, that the primary case you`re using is actually the factory matched, mated case to that gearbox?????

& Have you got the 2 dowels fitted to the back of the engine-to-g/box flange???

& yes,,, how much "Running clearance" has your primary gear got???

Hi Mat

ok two breathers, one on the clutch and one on the timing cover (factory)

where do you recomend i put them and how many

no the case is not factory as my other one was shot, does have the two dowels, fitted nice and snug by hand with out being forced on

I used a Dti guage and set the primary clearance to 0.0040 i had to get a new thrust washer made from a 998 one as i had two much clearance, C washers perfect condtion no marks, burrs etc.

Engine RE13 cam, 1360cc, 10.75 to 1 compression ratio, (engine properly CCed)

cheers

B
