I'm getting some work done on my mini sometime soon and it may require a respray after the jobs done. I was wondering what blues were originally offered with the minis? This is my current color scheme ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm not sure whether to keep it the same or change the blue to a genuine mini colour or even if I should change the blue to a mini blue and possibly ditch the decals if they don't suit it ![]() If you have any pics of the different blues please post them. I like the Baltic Blue from what I've seen and I'm not really keen on the Indigo Blue. I will be keeping the white roof. Also I'm thinking of going for the Cooper'S' style flairs and chrome strips, Ideas, susjestions and pics appriceated ![]() |

Don't know the name of it but the dark blue that was a common colour on Mk 1 Cooper S goes great with the white roof. Don't have a pic unfortunately. IMO they don't need stripes but it comes down to what you like of course. The stripes on the bonnet of your car are similar to the stripes on 80's and 90's UK Coopers. I never saw them like that in Australia back in the day though many people seem to be putting them on lately. The most common stripe on minis in the 60's was a single wide strip down the middle. I'd also vote for the Cooper S flairs with the chrome strip. It really defines the shape of the car. The Cooper style overriders look great too. Pete |

Pete Can't say I remember the single white strip - My mate had one in the 60's with the two white strips and there were plenty around at the time. |

'Dream Blue' was a 65 Deluxe colour. Sort of like a pale police blue - doesn't do it for me though (thats why I am painting over it) |

My ol man had a cooper S back then that was british racing green with a single gold stripe down the centre that was about half the bonnet width, though he wasnt sure if it was an original paint job or a later addition. |

Indigo Blue was the more common MK1 S colour - really nice colour, I prefer it monotone, no white roof and peterw - you're dead right, in the 60's, the only ones getting those bonnet stripes were the Cooper Car Co's race cars, everyone else since then has just been copying them!! sheep!! baaaa baaa baaaaa |
