Post subject:  Horn/steering column set up??

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me how the horn set up is supposed to fit togrther. Now I dont have a hoto habdy but with the steering column shroud off there is a small tag that sticks up from the indicator switch that when pressed onto the actual steering column the horn sounds.

Question is.. how does this set up work (the express never had a working horn unless I pressed this tag against the column) when the shroud or cover is on?

Not very clear but mabey some one will know what I mean...

Cheers, Bryan

There are a lot of small variations, but the theory is that the steering wheel (centre at least) is earthed via the steering column, and pushing on the spring loaded horn button closes a set of contact points that will complete the circuit by providing an earth to a wire coming from the horn that has power to it all the time.

ie - power ---> horn ---> button ---> earth
