Have a crankshaft,cast ID is ESC2A,can anybody help please,and would it be any good for a good rebuild. Thanks

That is just a casting number, look for a stamped number on one of the webs so we can ID it. Or measure the main bearing and crankpin journals.
Any crank is good for a rebuild if it's not been reground too many times, is not cracked and has a good condition taper on the tail where the flywheel fits.

if it came out of your car, you'd be hoping it's a MK1 S crank - should have EN40B cast into it somewhere, and I forget the proper number for a '68 S, but it'll be one of AEG315, AEG316, AEG479 or AEG480

Thanks,only stamp is 372,mains approx 2 inch,bigend 1-5/8".Only have a steel rule but that was as close as I could get. Cheers

sounds like a standard 1100S crank then... you need to measure it properly...

if it's going in your S motor, it'll need thicker thrust bearings than standard ones
