I have the chance to buy what i have been told is a Mini K but i dont know much about them. I have done a search but have not found much info on them.

I want to know how you tell them from any other Mini and is there anything specific i should be looking for.

Can anyone help please?

mini K's were the last of the roundnoses built before clubmans were introduced

they have the clubman lift-up style door handles, clubby shape tail lights and most importantly an 1100 motor.

I'm not really sure but they may have come with deluxe trim aswell :?:

thats a start but I'm sure some of the other guys on here will fill you in on the finer details

Good luck -Jimmy

Not all had the lift up (clubman style) handles , the number with lift-up handles has always been believed to be the last 400 but someone (argghh , can't remember who) on here was looking at that and it now seems to be closer to the last 2,000 mini K's . They started making K's in 1969 I think (anyone able to verify?) and went up tuill the end of roundnose production . They had an 1100 motor , hydro suspension , 3 guage dash like the later cooper s (plastic oval dash in the center with oil pressure , water temp and speedo guages and two green blinker "telltale" lights ) . Seats and trim were similar to the cooper s of the time I think also but someone else will be able to give more details there too .

No Mini-K ever came with Clubby tail lights.
Brakes were same as Mini Deluxe- flat drums all round, the wheels were 3.5x10.

12/70 must be right at the end of them , maybe thhat's where the magic 400 figure comes into it , 2,000 odd with clubbie doors but 400 with lights ? I was sure I'd seen a couple with them before .

Mine does too, although I have a suspicion the PO may have done that. It's got a clubby rear bumper too, but without pull-up door handles.
