When fitting a 35Lt fuel tank does one need to fit a new sender guage or will the old one suffice with a bit of modification?

At the moment, the fuel guage shows only 1/2 full when the tank is really full..

It it the screw mounted or bayonet fit? If screw you may have it out by a hole. Also check the float doesn't have a leak

How many lugs on the bayonet - 2 or 3 - if 3 still could be out a 1/3 of a turn

d1ck0, no muck on the boot floor after the last 10Lts cleaned it up when I didn't have the sender lug done up properly when I fitted the tank... :?
