give things a clean and get rid of all the old oil, then start her up and watch for where the leak is coming from - problem solvered!

i have a pretty bad oil leak and i havent played with it too much yet but i think its the seal to the oil cooler.. and thoughts? |

yeah they do leak and rattle but i lost an engine full of oil in 4 days lolol i think i found the trouble but i don't know whats up with it, theres a pretty damn oily hole in the reservoir to the right of the drain plug if your facing the sky under the front and it appears to have a split pin hanging out of it??? dyl |

that thing with the split pin hanging out of it ain't a reservoir, it's your clutch housing.... oil isn't meant to get in there, and it's the rear main seal that attempts to keep it that way. Your rear main seal has pooped itself.... fill thine engine with oil, and get thee to a house of mini repair |

did you actually get oil dripping out of that hole and off the end of the split pin? if it's really bad enough to lose all the oil in 4 days, then you ought to have had puddles forming somewhere under the car, and be able to see it drip drip dripping while the engine is running, and after turning it off the split pin is actually there to give any stray oil something to run down, so it doesn't puddle in the clutch housing |

It doesn't always happen Gaf. I drove the 1310 home from Wakefield Pk with the clutch housing full of oil, after a starter pinion tooth got flung up an broke a hole into the PCV vent at top. It never slipped a bit.
BTW There are also radial holes in the flywheel hub, so any oil that gets through the primary gear bushes into the flywheel gets flung out these holes and away from the clutch plate.

well now i dont feel so bad will put some pics on after school.. it still drives fine so i dont know.. i have puddles but it doesn't seem to drip much when its running.... dyl |
