hey does any one no of putting air bags in a mini has it been done before? i thought they would go quite nice replacing the rubber cones or could there be an issue with the bags rubbing against the sub frame? |

This has been asked here before. You just won't get enough pressure with air, eg hydro displacers (same size as rubber cones) on hydro cars run at around 300psi. If you are after a good ride, fit hydro. 
But if you are after a yumping bean Mini, well you'll need external fitted aftermarket air kit bits from da US probably.

i had a air bag in my mini, it was a pain in the butt she wont get in it now

Can you just use hydro bags? They're already water-tight, so they should be air tight too I'd imagine.

Even if you could get 300psi of air pressure it still wont work as air can be compressed a lot more than a liquid

Jon too true - in fact, since liquid can't be compressed at all, I think it'd be an entirely fruitless exercise though what might be entertaining is watching while someone else connected an air compressor to a pressurised hydro system - the compressor would spew hydro fluid from every orifice, would it not? |

mostly after a good ride HEIGHT i cheked out gordos cconversion he is using hydrulics isnt he? not sure on how much pressure they run i think it depends on the weight of the car and the amount of convolutes in the bag id say you would only need a single convoluting bag, but than again when the bag is deflated it could rub against the sides of the frame http://www.stengelbros.com/photogallery/IMG_0314_1.JPG |

Im not going to run any bags, im still using the rubber cone ( well not exactly, as i have a spring replacement) but using a hydraulic ram instead of the metal trumpets... Dont know what sort of pressure im going to be running yet as like you said it depends on loads and stuff like that, but the pumps i have will be able to lift just about anything... Air bags are too big, and the air trumpet things they also have a re way too long, it could be done but a whole new suspension setup would have to be designed and harldy worth the effort |

no it just leaks out the attachment valve on the hydro unit
