Im considering joining racv for fear of further breakdowns in the little one. just wondering if anyone has had experience re this and are they of any use when it comes to knowing old school mechanics? |

I've been a Total Care member for a few years now and in my eyes it is well worth it. Any RACV service person should be well trained for a mini given that they aren't the most complicated bit of machinery. The main benefit I've found with total care is that you are covered no matter what car you are driving as well as you nominate a car and anyone driving that is also covered. I have used this many times to obtain a free tow home. In my opinion Total Care is well worth the $160 odd for piece of mind and to be sure that even in the worst case, you can get the mini towed home free of charge. Hope this helps |

![]() Thanks for that, yeah been thinking its probably a good option considering the last tow cost 130 bucks. Might get onto it asap. Hope to see you around. |

Do it, it's invaluable. Years ago I took out Total Care before an attempted run from Melbourne to Brisbane, during which I blew a hole in an exhaust valve approaching Goulburn. In Goulburn the RACV guy naturally couldn't fix it, so they organised a flat bed truck to take the car back to Melbourne, put us in a taxi to Canberra airport where they supplied us with a hire car for a week. Best $130 (at the time) I have ever spent ![]() |
