These are very hard to get hold of.

The correct screws for early mini tail lights with 2 piece lens - I bet you have dodgey make-dos holding yours together!

Can't buy these at the hardware shop!

3 screws per lens assembly - all different.

Being flogged on eBay and I need one screw only (don't we all  ) didn't think till reading that they were all different- apart from length what else is special

they would be the very rare Cooper s Moke GT clubman screws that were hand carved by 15 naked female models then lovingly polished on the inner thigh of an 18 year old virgin

That rare you can buy them from MiniSpares in the UK for $3.50 for the kit of three. Not bad markup to $14.95 plus $7.95 postage

I couldn't help myself - had to drop him a note

If you don't like the price then don't buy them.

Thats just ignoring the problem.

If there are people there trying to take ill-informed shoppers for a ride, then they need to be pointed out.

If I were about to purchase an item, and were told beforehand that the price was actually artificially inflated, then I would be very thankful if I was advised to avoid that item.

Caveat Emptor. If you don't like the price, don't buy it.

Last time I was at Minisport I bought a set of his ones. I was told you can't get the original ones and have to buy their 'kit' which are just screws of the correct length that are the correct thread.

Yes that's correct. The originals were a special shanked screw. Current ones are normal screws that happen to be the correct length. Original style ones were available up until a few years ago and I think their normal retail price probably was around the $15 mark. Hence why I stuck to normal screws the correct length!

Ya both the MS and the eBay ones are normal screws that's why I got jacked about the price. The other parts site I use show them as shanked screws in a diagram and list them as £12 for the 3 - maybe they are the real deal - maybe not
