I've got a set of early aussie doors: external hinges, wind up window, UK MKI/MKII style external pull down handle. I'm missing a few bits and pieces so am having trouble figuring out what I should have and where.

Main question (so far):
Does the winder have a hexagonal boss like the UK ones? Or a square hole that goes straight onto the rod coming out of the mechanism. (same as door opener)?

What door pulls should there be (and where)?!

Is the drivers door mechanism the same as any other model or a one-off? (mine is missing completely)

Ideally I'd be able to get some pics of a complete set up......?

The winder is square like the inside handle.

There are no door pulls. Use the door bin!

I'm unsure whether they are simular to anything else. I would say no, as the Morris 1100's are different???????????

Thanks for that. I (finally) found some winder info on minisport. They say they have an adapter to fit the aftermarket alloy winders to aussie doors. That answers my question about whether or not I could just adapt the UK hexagonal boss to the aussie mechanism.

So no handles eh? Spare no expense

The last thing is the lock/latch - externally (ie looking through the door skin with my x-ray vision) it looks just like a sliding window one....am I being overly optimistic?

Inside handles are the same as Morris 1100.

When you guys say Morris 1100 you guys are meaning ADO16 right? (as in the signature line above)

By inside handle do you mean the actual locking mechanism?

I have never seen a Morris 1100 with an ADO16 badge. Yes I mean the ADO16.
By inside handle I mean the black bit inside the car that you lift to make the lock work. 8)
The Morris 1100 locks are totally different to the Mini locks.

But haven't you just contradicted yourself? You said the mini ones are like morrie 1100, then said they're different.....I confooozed

Right next question then - I've just spent an hour or so wrestling with one of these damn things. It's mostly apart, but has anyone ever taken the time to document how it SHOULD be done? It sure wasn't the way I did it

I mean everything: the trim, the glass, the latches.....what order should it be done it, and how etc

Got it.

Anybody else? I'm thinking of things like, is there a poper way to remove the frame trim, what happens first, channels in or secure quarter light. Will I create a black hole if I remove the winder mechanism, how the hell do you get the door lock out......
