Ive got several hidden switches, 1 for fuel pump, 1 for 12V ign to coil and another for the 12v to the solenoid for the starter, once all of them have been closed u just push the start button and hope it still runs........

Anton, is it an electric fuel pump or mechanical?
In the past (on all my cars) I have used a switch to cut off the power from the 1. Fuel Pump, 2. Ignition and 3. Earth on the battery.

It lets the car try to start, they can crank it over and over but it wont kick... and they think 'shitbox' and leave it alone.

Peter.

Thats true, but most times its the joyriders that get em.
A mate does alarms, I might get one of those pager/tracker type ones...

But no police, if it gets stolen, its me and the boys going to 'collect'

Damn I hate thieves... grrr

Where are all the roundie fans? No one has said not to worry since its a Clubby... the mods have really frightened them off.

Nar i'll stick up for his decision to fit anti theft devices. I mean, after all, it's got a Cooper S engine, a set of Cooper S discs and Cooper S right hand tank.

if its a mechanical fuel pump go see your local gas fitter for a petrol lock-off. just cut it into your line and put +12 to it. you can get brass olive fittings to cut into steel lines too.. if you were in vic I'd hook you up...

also if its an electric fuel pump, you do have a safety switch don't you? if not you might like to go see your local gas fitter anyway.

Good point re: locking it in the boot!

I was given one of those switches with the car (not fitted).

Only prob is having to lift the boot board and battery cover EVERY time I leave the car and return to it! :(

Fuel pump is electric (standard GT). A cut of switch on that is a good idea (for safety too). I would still rather a would-be thief has no ignition at all than have it crank and possibly start then stall. It might give a thief some hope.

My old van was fitted with a kill switch. It was the removable toggle type that you see fitted to rice boy cars. so you can take the toggle switch out of the car altogether, hence no charge at all without getting at the battery and rerouting it. Worked well. Location is imortant as anyone can start it if they have one of the toggle switches. I'll chat to you deirect as to where it is as it's best not to disclose on here for the new owners sake

Cheers
Aaron

Its all just wires and open circuits you want anyway... really.

Some people have it so that the car must be in a certain state... or combination.
EG, Must be in reverse and brake pressed to start it (otherwise its got no circuit)

What I am saying is that people WILL look for a switch... a button or something similar.
Many thieves know about the 'press the brake' switch... but a combo that only you know is better. Brake + Reverse + Left Blinker + High Beam or something :)
Or, have a switch behind the rear pocket ash tray ;) When the ashtray is open, then it releases the switch and closes the circuit... then you can start it... if you close the ashtray it kills power... so when you get out, just close the ashtray ;)

I mean, where can you really hide a 'swtich' in a mini ?
