yesterday took the car for a run, and on the way home about 200m from home i started to lose throttle response and the car started to 'gurgle' and then lurch foreward...
thought initially it was electrical, but ive just recently replaced a heap of the electrics (points, condenser, coil, altenator, rotor button, plugs, leads). checked all of my usual causes of problems (coil leads all attached, dizzy rotor button)
then had a sift through here with the search function and thought...oh well maybe my dellorto needs a tune-up (running rich at the moment) but for it to change from running awesome, to turn to absolute crap was a bit odd
i then researched on here further and read up on an old post describing the jets can sometimes get clogged with gunk/crap and cause this problem..also that sometimes it will clear itself given some time..
took it on an MOCQ run today thinking that the run might do a bit of good.....
how wrong i was:
got to the cooroy classic car show and the car was really jumping around when accelerating even when only slightly and was like missfiring (brum, br, br, br ,br bruuum, br, bruuum

make sence??

)
anyway i decided id leave a little earlier then the others and make my way to our next meeting point slowly and easy, but about 5 mins away from the show, and with the foot fully burried, i was topping out at 60km/h on a flat (car jumping wildly). figured nah ill limp it to a nearby place and get a tow home (ginger factory for the locals). met with the folks who were heading to the car show anyway, so i didnt wait too long. fitted up the tow strap and got a 'lift' home, sept on the highway about 2km from home, i let too much slack in the 'snatch-em' strap and ran over it (getting it tied in the left and right hand wheels) and then the heat from rubbing on the tyres just melted the snatchem and snapped

(another thing i now add to the 'i owe the parents list') so i figured id still just try to limp home and made it (30km/h on some hilly parts).
i checked the plugs orriginally yesterday and they were mildly covered in some carbon, but i just removed em now and numbers 1-4 were all a lot worse (1 worst through to 4 least)
im just stuck on what to do, other then take the car down to the mini specialist and just let them do their thing, or i might take the carby off to clean it up (but i dont know exactly where the jets are (if thats the prob))

i dunno what the prob is so can someone help me?
carby?? perhaps a bad batch of fuel?? clogged fuel filter? fuel starvation to the carb? something else
