mdf is really cheap, just go to your hardware store, bunnings or whatever.
its bendy too so you can flex it to get it in

Can't make them from bunnings. Too big and heavy, smells funny too.
I'm going to make some myself soon.
Plan is 3mm MDF, waterproofed, with some thin sponge under the vinyl or carpet that will be seen.
:D

i used 3mm MDF (from bunnings) and some 5mm foam padding from clark rubber covered with normal vinyl on my first mini and didnt come up to bad, nice and easy to work wif and sat in the car nicely

Gafmo/MiniMe,

Do you guys have a pattern/template one could borrow?

Unfortunately, mine did not come with the car.

Cheers,
Tricky

I used thin masonite type wood, I thought it might be more water proof with the shiny bit facing inwards! Doubt it. I also steer clear of foam padding personally, I don't like the look and find it can be a bit trickier to get a good result.

Next time I make some door cards I'm tempted to go get some of the corrugated plastic stuff they use for For Sale signs, cuts easy with a knife and won't be affected by water. Don't know how long it will last otherwise though.
