I'll be rebuilding my gearbox in January coz the current one is very tired. I've made all the arrangements for the rebuild but what I basicaly need is a space - someones back yard \ shed \ garage to park the car for a week, take out the engine remove the box and some other components, take them to be overhauled and put them back on. I live in a townhouse and the conditions in the small garage would make taking out the engine nearlyimpossible.

So if anyone has some spare space in Sydney and are willing to help me out I'm perfectly willing to pay for the favour either in cash or in alcohol (which I have in abundance at work).

Cheers
Michael.

Anyone?....... I wont be actualy rebuilding anything at the place I just need somewhere where I can pull the engine out and put the new box on it- otherwise its paying the mechanics for basicaly physical work which I can do myself and thats atleast $800 which could have gone towards the car.

Its just thay I live in a townhouse with no room to take an engine out (unless I wanna be evicted) and all of my mates seem to live in appartments or with parents too.

I'll pay for the place, and help the good soul with any of their repairs.

Please?

Location: Sydney - strangely, I am glad of the sight of hills!!
looked at a townhouse yesterday that has a oversize double garage. i might buy it :D it has room for 2 minis, 1 Forester, 1 motorbike, 2 pushbikes, 1 workbench at the back, and i'll throw in a wine cellar, and a grease monkey bathroom so i don't have to go up 2 storeys to take a piss :!: and you could still swing the proverbial cat with all that in there

sorry that does not help you now though. i can empathise and sympathise about lack of garage, i am currently renting space from a friend who needed the money just so she can stay where she is until the end of jan, then she will be out and i'm back in the same situation as you.

Gafmo same person as did yours :). I was planning this month and since I have to travel to Kev's i'm very willing to travel (owning a mini in the eastern suburbs you gotta be prepared to go out west or the hills). I've got everything I need for the rebuild and otherwise I was gonna chuck an RE13 cam in there - and thats pretty much it.
