Post subject:  A Cooper Maybe in Sydney

Hi

After having a look at the link in the For Sale post by the same name I would urge caution.

The rego sticker has a different number to the plate on the rear of the car, with none on the front.

Also the rego sticker shows the "vin" as YG2S1****, this isn't Cooper S, looks like a sheep in wolfs clothing to me.

Cheers
Steve

:?
YG2S1 is the code for a MiniK IIRC.
A few dodgy MK2 S cars have had the 1 overstamped with a 4 to give YG2S4.

Cooper S painted dash rails.

So is it, or isnt it?

Are the tabs there for the fuel tank balance pipe, boot board tabs etc

It is a Mini K with a Morris 1100S engine. There are no Cooper S bits in it at all except for the badges and the price tag.

Interesting to note that it was on concessional Qld rego and isn't the car required to be verified by a qualified club member to sign off on it being what it is to be registered as :?

Yes apparently.

You need a letter form the club on official club letter-head paper.........

For concessional rego the dating officer is rquired to verify the age of the vehicle, not what model etc.

As far as I can see the rego label doesn't say Cooper anyway, it just has the chassis number.
