Post subject: | Paypal Ebay scam |
Mrs Oz does a lot of buying and selling on ebay (S*** she makes more money than me working a poper job). She recently sold an item to a GIT in the UK. They got the item and left feedback 'Received item excellent AAAA" etc. 2 days later Mrs Oz gets an email from Pay pal (which the Git used) saying said Git had made a claim against Mrs Oz becuse she had not receieved item paid for (Not the wrong item or damaged item just said to payal did not receive item). Mrs Oz wrote 4 long letters to paypay (each time gettingAutomoted response) and at the same time contacted other people who had sold to UK Git. Seems Git had made similar claims against three other sellers even though in all cases Git had left possitive feedback. In one case Git was making two claims against one seller. Seems Git has bad rep with eby and has been bared. SO what ended up happeneing??? Dumb ass sepos end up refunding UK Gits money from Mrs Oz paypal account and all other transactions Git had claimed against. So Mrs Oz and all others have sent item to git, had item stolen by Git and then had to pay git for the privelage. So simply I think I will try it myself. BTW Mrs Oz rang Dumb ass sepos at Paypal and told them in good Aussie fashion how stupid they are but I think it went over their head. |

Ebay the Paypal parent company uses its incorporation tag in Australia and operates here and so it and its subsidiaries fall under the normal prudential regulation network. You should give APRA a call as well as the ACCC and complain of misleading and deceptive behaviour as you were promissed a secure transaction with Paypal (and indeed you have paid fees for such transaction) see what the goverment agencies say. |

good thinking mike... top of the class... might be tricky getting govt tossers to do anything unless a tv news show is involved... I am having trouble with an ebay dickhead atm and still no sign of another expensive purchase....gotta question if its worth buying or selling on ebay |

Personally, I only deal in direct debit or money order transactions. I never spend over $100 on a purchase. I try to buy local to save on postage costs. Only 1 item has never arrived.... a damn DVD |

I think that if you research the paypal contract you'll find something like: "Paypal is a subsidiary of Ebay Inc" Hey what the hell I'll look it up for you: "Founded in 1998, PayPal, an eBay Company, enables any individual or business with an email address to securely" and "Located in San Jose, California, PayPal was acquired by eBay Inc. in October, 2002" See: http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/gen/about-outside And specific assurances as to protecting you from fraud: "We help shield you from liability. PayPal fights chargebacks to help your business avoid losses And for qualified transactions, we go even further to protect you against chargebacks. With PayPal's Seller Protection Policy, your business can be protected from liability at no additional cost. You can feel confident knowing there's a dedicated team on your side. Over 800 experienced agents are working to fight fraud on your behalf." See: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=xpt/bizui/BusinessSecurity-outside Also note the detailed pdf files as to Paypal's fraud policies. Now depending on what the working definition of Paypal's business would be either ACCC or APRA might help you - just give them a call and quote from the many statements as to protecting you from fraud on the Paypal website. |
