well the saga goes on lol heading out this morning to have the yokohamas fitted and I noticed that the indicator arm was pushed down to the high beam position, flicked it back up to low beam and indicated right - indicators didn't stay on, pushed the arm back down to "high beam" indicated again and they stay on. Is the switch knackered? I'm guessing there's no adjustment to be had? are these still available? if not, what are people uing instead? something Japanese? cheers K |

The contacts are pretty flimsy, but before throwing it out, have a look at the wiring loom. With the arm swinging back and forth it is quite common for the wires to part internally without the insulation breaking, or for it to come away from the contact completely. With a little solder and twenty minutes you might have 170 bucks to spend on other things instead. |

thanks pete will follow those up Mick - the indicators work ok - I just need to hold the arm down to turn right - otherwise it pops straight back to the middle |

has either the arm assembly or the cowling rotated around the column slightly causing the arm to hit the edge of the hole in the cowling when you put the blinkers on? |

that's what I'd hoped but no, I can stick my finger in the hole so there's still clearance

I had to originally hold my 850 stalk up to indicate left as the hold mechanism had gone. From memory to fix it I opened it up and had to rebend the little bar that locks the indicator into place as it had flatten out due to wear. Shard |

thanks Shard I'll have a look at that it's stuffed now so I can't make it any worse

If it is only a problem when you turn right, have you changed the steering bits at all? Check that the 'indicator switch off bolt' on the steering wheel shaft is in the middle of the switch when you drive straight, if not it may be turning the indicator off in the straight ahead position? Cheerio |

My car as far as I could tell never came with indicator switch return bolts, so I manually flick the indicators back from lock everytime I straighten out. Took a few weeks but it's second nature now. (lots of fun when I drive the occasional modern car and flick the indicators back after the car has auto returned them causing the opposite side I was flicking from to come on). |

It could be that the outer column has been reinstalled too far in or too far out and the return mechanism is out of alignment. Worth pulling the outer shroud off and go through the motions of the mechanism. It should be obvious then. Pete |

My indicatorlights have decided to go out on my dash, but work outside?? Wont touch it tho as i dont want it to bugger up the outside ones too. |

Wont touch it tho as i dont want it to bugger up the outside ones too. They're in parallel, so the common ground for the indicator lights has come loose, or the bulbs are simply blown. I hate changing bulbs on the center binnacle
