I tried a search but it wasn't all that helpful. Which what a noob like me should do first

Just want to know if there are any differences between the towers size/dimesions from a hydro to a dry front subframe. have got a hydro front now and am going to give it the chop to put a 4efte in the front. wondering if the towers on a dry frame were physically smaller as it would be a better base to work from in that case.

ps have been a reader of ausmini for the past 3 years, it has taken me awhile for my first post hey!!!!!

The difference is inside the towers, there are little tags that hold the hydro bags up.
If removed, the subframe will be for dry/cone suspension.

Isn't there a slight difference in tower height too? One of them is slightly taller than the other IIRC, or there's a spacer there or something..

The hydro subframes have a spacer that sits between the subframe and the body, about 6mm (1/4 inch) thick from memory....

I believe as well that the shape where the hydro bag sits differs from the dry subframe. Plenty of people still manage to stuff the rubber cones in anyway.

Top arm on the front suspension differs to suit the hydro bag (knuckle sits further out on wet) so will give a stiffer ride on dry.

One subframe uses bolts in the towers, the other uses studs, but no difference in fitting it up.
