Yep.....got one in my mini and I reckon it's great. Lots of users here disagree and say that they can do damage to your gear-box. I guess it's really up to the individual. Hooroo |

is yours a KAD rodney??? quick shift feels significantly tighter and feels very different to a normal shift. reduces the distance you ahve to shift the gear lever by about half??? they take a little getting used to but once you do, the normal shift just feels sloppy and horrible |

I can think of a lot of better ways to spend money than a quickshift. ![]() Has you car got any rust? How old are the brake hoses? Seats got any holes? Fix what it needs before you fix what it does not need. ![]() |

I drove a car in canberra that had a KAD quickshift on a rodchange, it was sweet. ![]() I drove another in Sydney that had a noname one on a rodchange, it was bloody hopeless.. ![]() Personally I prefer a remote shift with no slack in it (ie. worn bits replaced or refaced). It's already a quickshift... BMC got it right the first time. ![]() |

I have often wondered what was going thorugh the engineers mind when they came up with the rod-change. It was done for the Austin Allegro and flowed into the Minis. The did a nice direct change and it was great. Then they came up with cable changes for the 1800 and Maxi and they were crook. So then they came up with the rod-change. The only thing nice about the rod-change is that it is better than a cable shift. ![]() |

I have a KAD quickshift in my moke. The workman ship and quality is great and it makes for great shifting. Took all the slack out and now is nice, tight and short throw. |

I have a Mini Spares quickshift in mine, and love it. One thing to be wary of though is to be gentle on the gearbox -- with the quickshift, it's really easy to beat the synchro's into gear which is Not Good for them. It's especially bad on second gear, since that's the weakest in the 'box. If you're gentle and have the right oil in there they're fine, but if you've got a heavy hand you're going to stuff your synchro's in no time flat. |

I too have a KAD quick shift and i would not give it up for the world, gear changes have purpose, and banging them out that quick is just so satisfying... sure it's bad for the gears just like driving fast is bad for the engine, but if you wanna enjoy it do it and for that price why even ask? |
