Number one - Lock tabs or Loctite for the Crown Wheel retaining bolts?

Number two - there is some surface rust on the crown wheel - clean it up or just coat in oil?

I've not had trouble with the locktabs on the crownwheel, but if I don't have em I've used Loctite 262, no problems.
I'd just rub the rust off as much as poss, then oil it...
