Not too sure which folder to put this one in.

One of the blokes at work is a "super low" volume importer, maybe one or two cars a year. Once he found out I like minis he's been forwarding on the emails he gets from the agents in Japan. It's interesting to see some of the mods they do to their cars. Roof-racks, lights etc. Everything seems to have a weber carb too, no matter how small the engine.
This is what he sent me today. I have heaps of info on these cars but I shortened it to make it readable.
First is a white 1984, I love the roof rack and the stylish cut off grill to make it look like a Mk1.

Next a green 1983 model. They've gone to town with this one, 1380, tail lights and all. A fair portion the cars I've been posted run a centre instrument cluster too. They must love that retro look.

And lastly a blue 1987 1L,

PS this is NOT an advertisment for my mate (because he's not interested in importing them), it's just me sharing some ideas and showing whats around in Japan.

On these ones the dude put POA, but the last two he sent me were a red one very similar to the blue one for $5500 and a late sixties Austin Estate Wagon with spare 1275 motor for $9000. I can probably find out the prices for these ones just give us a bit of time.

Ok, just found out these all sold last week for B/W 500,000 and 600,000 Yen FOB.

Those first 2 minis sure look great. Love that shortened grill look without the moustache surround.

green one is perfect as it is (I'd never fit my arse in those skinny little racing seats anyway)

yeah, I was thinking the same... no plates like that in Japan...

the blue one looks like a 1275 to me, given the length of the head... and a 998 would never push those gigantic wheels around
