i am writing this on behalf of my brother who is not aloud on the computer ![]() G day fellas how do you get out the bearing case that goes on the bottom cog that comes out of the gearbox and you have the housing that the case goes into the metal round thing i have been told to do a weld arount the middle of it and let it cool but this does not work i have tried it with a mig welder several times and still refuses to come out how can do you get it out.............. on behalf of my brother justin........ |

I have a 3/8" bolt with a big thick washer welded on it that's a nice fit inside the bearing ring. I put it inside the bearing ring and then tack it with the MIG in 8 places. I then use an 850 diff yoke as a spacer above it, fit a nut and flat washer and wind the sucker out. Then I grind the remains of the ring off the washer, ready for next time. ![]() |

OK I used the above method I posted to get the idler bearing out after trying the "heat it up hit & it with a hammer method" All I succeeded in doing was stripping the top flange off the bearing case. Now I have a bear shell lining the hole ![]() |

Get a die grinder or fast electric drill, and use a small grinding wheel to gently cut through the casing of the needle bearing. It's pretty hard stuff... ![]() |

hey its me im aloud on the computer....i wasnt aloud on for teasing one of me bros or sisters or somthin... i got it out heated it up with a stick welder then with a crow bar and screw driver and a bit of force she came out.... cheers and thanks f or all ya help fellas |
