I have just discovered that Malta has now started to Host a Grand Prix for the older Vehicles like the one in Monaco. The racing is held around the Historic capital City of Valletta. There are quite a few bits of film about it on youtube. Nice and interesting old cars turned up for the first grand Prix which was held in October this year. I also learnt that Malta is the country having the most Ferrarris per Capita. It is a 64 square mile of an Island with population of around four hundred thousand people and it has there 53 ferrerris in it's possession. I remember a friend of Mine there Joe Anastasi has the fastest hill climbing mini on the island. It has an eight port head on it and has the Vacuum/mechanical fuel injection system on it from a BMW. This was in the late senenties when I still lived there. If I saw correctly on one of the Youtube Films it was run in the Grand prix De Malta but I could not be so sure as they are not good quality films. http://www.grand-prix-de-malte.com/ |

Wow - looks amazing - just imagine them going round the circle at the bus terminus! ro through the little tunnel! I was in Valetta for a weekend this past (northern) summer - it's a great place - and has a lot of interesting cars kicking about, plenty of minis too. |

Yes the old cars would have felt at home in Malta as there is still a lot of old cars there and are still used as everyday drivers. It always amazed me how on an Island that small with all the salt air and all that the Maltese seem to preserve their cars so much. I wouldn't mind going there next year for a Look. I happen to know one of the main organisers of the event too. |

Simple answer for you... I have never and will never be able to own one to need to know how to spell it's name. Knowing how to spell Ferrari properly will not get me or Any one any closer to ever owning one. Every one else including you, know exactly what I am talking about. So who cares how Ferrari is spely correctly. |

That would be great. Malta is the best place - lots of old English stuff when I was there last and in day to day service. We hired a Triumph Herald and thrashed it for weeks. Great place - nice people - every corner somebody had an aunt/cousin/sister in Melbourne. Really bad/good roads depending on your tastes |
