thanks gafmo.

reason i ask is, i'm currently replacing the side trim on my red S and i've noticed that the lip on some of the flares has gone brittle and started to crack away, making them pretty much useless if i want the side trim to hold them in place.

Thinking of buying a new set of flares, but not knowing the actual kind of red that was used on the body, it's going to make it a bit hard to make them match. So yeah, i was thinking of just spraying them straight black but wasn't sure how they'd look on a red S with a white roof.

The monte carlo mini looks great with the black flares though.

Not the best photo, but I don't have any others here at the moment.. you get the idea though. My car has black side trim (not chrome) and below that the sills are painted black as well. Works well IMHO..

I agree - if the arches are the only back bits on the car, it looks like they were fitted as an after-thought and the owner was too stingey to get them painted. With the black roof, the back arches become an integral part of the colour scheme.

i think the black arches set the wheels off with a white roof, kinda makes them look bigger, meaner!

Check out Jan 08 MiniWorld. The cover car looks great with the black arches, stripes and roof :)
