 Post subject: orange oil ring thing

how do you put a new oil seal/ring in???? the orange one that is near your clutch have tried but not gotten it in...is there a special way to doit or is it just really hard?? how do you fellas do it??? any help would be greatly appreciated...........

You make sure the hole its going into is clean, you oil the seal up nicely to make it slip in then you find something the right diameter to push it in with. A large socket if you have one that big or the bottom of a smooth round tin. Then you press it in as straght as you can. Then you come back with a hammer and tap the fu**er until its straight.

At least thats how I do it.

Also makes a world of difference if you run a bit of grease around the outside of to lube it up on the way in.

If you've pushed it in and out a few times there will probably be some damage to the seal, I would consider going to a bearing shop with 5 dollars and getting another off the shelf, it is worth it.

Used the old ring on top of the new one and hammer the old one to push the new one in. MAke sence :shock:

hi guys..... well we did try to put it in and wed put one side in and the otha would pop out and this continued to happen and the ring is basically wrecked now so i ordered another and also i dont want to wreck another.......

light taps around the edge.
Check to see if the coil has popped out after it's home too
