Is the rear subframe on the van different to a car? If so has anyone got one they want to sell?

as far as i am aware they are the same as normal sedan ones, the dampers are different though, they are slightly longer to reach the mounting point.

30mm to be precise. It's hard to get new van shocks, but you can put sedan ones in, thats what I did with my van.

The trumpet (fits between the arm and cone) on a van rear subframe is a few mm longer and has a slightly different foot where it fits into the cone. This is to stiffen the rear end slightly and cope with a full load. Same trumpet is used on a Moke.

Thanks fellas. The rear subframe I was given for the van is very rusty. I can't be bothered trying to fix it. I'll have a bit of a look around for rear dampers.

Just put sedan shockers in...
unless your planning on carrying heavy loads around.

It will be loaded, just depends on what is meant by heavy loads. What is the load rating of a van?

I have sedan shocks in my vans and ute...
And they carry around a lot of crap.
hasn't hurt them. you may find they wear out a little faster but most times they
last longer than the owner
