do we have a "how to" on putting new floor pans in. as you can see from the pic it looks pretty yucky, but theres only a few holes and the left side has been done by a PO, but there is a little rust comming through. its not tragic I just dont know which way to go. Image

I'd be looking for some panels in better nick from a donor car as first move. Cut out the LHS bodge & the rusty RHS. That way you retain the original style pressings. Plan B would be to weld in some after market ones on both sides, at least it would look symetrical. No point welding panels on top etc, you need to get rid of the cancer & do a proper job.

If the car has hydro pipes, the after market ones are a pain as the channels are all wrong, but if you weild a MIG, they can be respectably modified with some effort.

you can easily buy a replacement panel from the likes of karcraft/ minisport.

then sit teh panel in place and mark the edge.

then cut the hole out roughly an inch from the panel, then gradually trim to fit.

have fun.

The left side floor looks like it has been repaired with paper mache! Anyhow as mentioned the aftermarket floor pans do not match up with the Australian type but can still be used. You can either respectfully modify it like Pete says, or run your hydro lines underneath the floor rather than in the channel - early model hydro cars were set up like this from the factory.

By the way, I love you door check straps. 100% style.
