Should the box under the dash on the passenger side ice up if you do NOT have the air con running ?

I arrived in Batlow yesterday arvo after an 8 hour trip and found that it had iced up. It did it again this morning after a short trip.

I haven't had the aircon running at all yet, I just had the windows down.

Does the mini aircon compressor have a clutch pully? If so I'd say its stuck on, rather than turning on and off.

This means that the compressor is always turning, even though your aircon is switched off.

Solved it for the moment.

Have unplugged the compressor.

Gave me a noticeable power increase.

Also solved the reverse sensor not working.

The control unit has had some severe pressure applied to its casing (eg...being stepped on)..and the circuit board has microscopic cracks through 6 tracks around the resonator. Looks like when the case was squashed, the resonator took all the force and put it onto the board.

Dad is currently repairing it, pays to know an electronics engineer ;).

It's on the hills around hill that it was noticeable. Can power up them in 4th without losing too much speed, whereas before it headed down to 90km/h pretty quickly.
