Hi,
I need a bit of welding done on my mini and was looking for someone who can wield a mig or tig to help me out. I am in northern melbourne but can take it anywhere (esp gippsland)
can pay in $$ or brewski's.

Any ideas?

Can you get the car to Geelong???

The guy who did the welding on my daughters mini did a brilliant job and was very reasonable too. If you are interested please phone me. I've PM'd my number to you.

I gots a spot welder...

Training can be performed over a very short cup of tea and a couple of hits on a piece or two of scrap metal. It's very simple to operate, any monkey can do it.

Give me a yell if you have a complete panel to replace, all you need is a grinder and a bit of time.

And I'm a lot closer than Geelong if that helps and isn't too vague on the WWW.

Hey Mick,
Thanks for that. I dont think i will need a whole panel done ( fingers crossed )
If you can see a reason in the pics that i will let me know.

If I do I will make sure to give you a ring. I have chai tea direct from Nepal that i can bring :) Its not that good but ... well its from nepal....so that makes it cooler.

Nah, that stuff gives you cancer of the sphincter I believe. ;)

It does look like patching work, but thought I would throw it in there for thought anyway...I just had an hour of fun fashioning modifications to a factory radio box for the LS using the spot welder and my butcher's apron.

It's getting a hi-tech AM and FM wireless care of Strathfield's boxing day sale, no more cat whisker radio for the LS!

Good luck with your wireless radio. Don't know how it will work without any wires ;)

Hey thats not serious, you've done the best with the rust converter. None of it looks structural. Best to now sand back to bare metal and start with a high fill primer putty to fill the pits and then go from there. Any rust converter not sanded off that sits in the pits is ok. The couple of holes I would lead fill (tin, plate tack, peen, sand paint!)

If you weld you need to treat the underside of all your weld work, properly done is a big job.
