Just BTW, I wouldn't use Penrite HPR30 in a Mini engine, it's full of friction modifiers. Use their Classic range instead.

thanks, the penrite website still recommends hpr30 for minis, and somepeople swear by it.. but its good to keep that in mind.

Good on you Ryan. Good to see someone else taking the inititive to get something going.

I've always used HPR 30 and never had any problems :?

I've always used generic 20W/50 without a problem. Right now I'm using Shell, as there was a big special at the local Autobahn on Shell 20W/50 oil.

$9 for 5L. :D I've used this one before, no problems and will use it again along with many other brands.

The 'best' oil is a very debateable subject.

K-Mart's KMX 20W/50 for me. It's less than 1/2 the price of castrol edge 25W/50, gives the same pressure as that hot and cold, and doesn't sludge inside the rocker cover like Penrite HPR30 did...

On my road mini :
Spark plugs--> i use everyone elses 2nd hand crap plugs (cost me nothing) Altho i still have a set of champion "X" type plugs that the champion rep gave me to try from years ago, they have seemed to last & last & last
Oil filter--> the cheapest nastey-est ones i can buy
Oil--> cheap sh!t brand with a bottle of STP added
Tyres--> 2nd hand cheap sh!T "things" that people give me
Brake pads--> everyone elses 2nd hand half worn crap (whatever brand doesn`t matter to me i fry tham all anyways) :-)
Rod ends--> good nick 2nd hand ones from old steering racks in the shelf

On my race mini:
Spark plugs--> the coldest i can get
Oil filter--> The cheapest nasteyest ones i can buy (they`re only in the car for a few runs & i swap them out for new again)
Oil-->HPR50 (swap it nearly every meeting)
Tyres--> either Hoosiers or Yoko AO48Rs
Brake pads--> the old DS11 full comp (hard as rock)
Rod ends--> whatever i find laying around that hasn`t got any play or torn boots

:-)

BUt, for all my customers cars:
only the very best will do

:-)
