Post subject:  Difference Between 7.5" & 8.4" Disc Brakes

Hey, Since i'm going to start racing next year i was wondering what the difference between 7.5" and 8.4" brakes.
At the moment i have drums with 10" wheels so i couldn't fit 8.4's, so i was wondering, is it worth getting bigger wheels or will the 7.5' brakes still preform just a good, if not how big is the difference between the two.
Also what would be the best disc brakes to buy.

Cheers

The difference between STANDARD discs of 7.5 and 8.4 is not much in real terms of performance. You probably wouldn't notice much at all. The pomgolians made a decision to go to bigger wheels and felt safer with bigger brakes.

Now for racing - the 8.4's can be had with ventilated rotors, four spot calipers and all other manner of goodies that do make a big difference when you go for that one big stomp on the pedal just beofre the corner.

Its really a matter of money and how much can you spend.
