Hey, Since i'm going to start racing next year i was wondering what the difference between 7.5" and 8.4" brakes. At the moment i have drums with 10" wheels so i couldn't fit 8.4's, so i was wondering, is it worth getting bigger wheels or will the 7.5' brakes still preform just a good, if not how big is the difference between the two. Also what would be the best disc brakes to buy. Cheers Sav |

Sav The difference between STANDARD discs of 7.5 and 8.4 is not much in real terms of performance. You probably wouldn't notice much at all. The pomgolians made a decision to go to bigger wheels and felt safer with bigger brakes. Now for racing - the 8.4's can be had with ventilated rotors, four spot calipers and all other manner of goodies that do make a big difference when you go for that one big stomp on the pedal just beofre the corner. Its really a matter of money and how much can you spend. Mike |
