Hy guys I am putting my head together today. I have 8 little orings. I assume they go on the valve underneith the valve retainers? Also I am not putting stem seals on the exhaust valves should I leave the little O rings out too? cheers |

Those little O-rings are not used with 1275 valves, or late 998 Clubby (smog head) valves either. |

I hope this is a racing engine. On a road car leaving out the stem seals is an invitation for it to smoke every time you take off from a set of lights. Pete |

I am only leaving out the exhausts. The valve stems are new so I doubt much more than a very very small mist of oil will be drawn into the exhaust port. This fine mist will also help to keep the valve from burning out.. |

Pete Cooper S only had valve seals on the inlets. Ditto Alfa Romeo, Fiat, etc etc. Unlike the inlets, there is no vacuum on the exhausts so no need for them, and if running bronze guides (or k-liners) these need a slight amount of lube to prevent valves seizing. |
