three things happened today

1. The throttle cable broke
2. after fixing it the car developed a misfire - which only be cured with full choke
3. top end power improved dramatically

Hmmm...
Full choke and an improvement in top end power could be because it is too lean.
Misfire after changing cable, I have no idea. Maybe you knocked off a vacuum pipe?
