Hi all.

I was just wondering if I should fit a thermo fan to my engine?.

I have had the radiator cut up and cleaned and the blocks been hot tanked. I need to buy a new fan anyways and the cost is about the same for a new fan as it is to get a SH thermo of a late model car.

Would it be fairly easy to wire the thing in with a sender etc etc?

thanks guys.

I have a thermo fan on my car as a backup on hot days ( a new or reconditioned radiator would probably help as well).
Its wired in at the moment via a relay and switch so the wiring isn't too hard, you just have to remember to watch the temperature so you know when to flick the switch.
I do have the sender but nowhere to put it at the moment and that would require a little bit more thought on the wiring but still shouldn't be too hard.

38 today so it probably will get a work out today :D

get the thermo, on the highways its alot more quieter seeing you dont have it wirring away at 4000rpm,

i also put it on the same fuse so if the fuse for the fan blows the engine will cut out,

and seal round the side of the fan, i went without the switch and it warmed up in 3mins of carefull slow and easy driving
