Post subject:  Distributors, a few questions.

Hey all!

Does anyone have a picture of their D4R83 electronic dizzy installed? If you do, can you please post it, it may answer a few questions down the track.

Also, for those that have installed it, do you have any pointers for when i am installing mine?

When i removed the old Lucas dizzy from the car and spun it with my fingers there was a rattle :? is that normal? My cousin who is working on the car with me said it was the mechanical advance, it was loose. Just wondering if this could be the source of my problems, when i start the car up and idle it for a bit its fine but when you give it a bit of juice it coughs and splutters all over the place..... Loose / stuffed advance?

As always, any feedback is appreciated.

The mechanical advance mechanism on Lucas ones eventually wears, then the springs don't pull the cam spindle back.
I have an old 29D here- you turn the rotor to the stop and it only comes 1/2 way back.

At least the Pulsar dizzies aren't buggered when you get them.

D4R83 and D4R85 look the same.
Here's pics of a D4R85 in our A+ 1293, the only difference to look at in an A series is it has the Lucas clamp plate.
