hey

i have a project in mind were i want to shave the door handles of and install a door popping kit such as this one:

Do you guys thing this would fit a 78 clubman or has anyone already done this to there ride. if so was it a hard project and where in Sydney did you guys go to install it, or even better if anyone knows how to install this product please let me know.

Since your 78 mini has the burstproof latches it will be easier as the doors mechanism uses rods to operate so you'll just have to connect the rods behind the door trims to the solenoids (poppers) . Making it all fit and operate smoothly is something that will take a bit of figuring out though . Just check with the legal standing of it all though too as I believe you need a seperate (mechanical) method of opening the door in case of emergency .

yeh is all i know is if you put door poppers and shave handles u must have a mechanical way of opening door my mate got done for this on hes ute
most people install and small pin thats looks like a internal button but on the outside that if you push the door opens

wouldnt anyone be able to open it then??? do you know where he got them installed? i can buy them and get my doors shaved but i need someone to install the actual unit.

You know the easy way out would be to just paint the doorhandles the same as the body.

If the mechanical way is from the inside I'd not see an issue.
You'd also fit central locking to control when to get in or not.
It's all possible, but wouldnt be easy.

Not quite sure on the legality of shaving your door handles.

Something to do with emergency services being unable to get into your car if the door popper devices shits itself, and you can't open your doors.

the fact you can't get the door poppers through any aussie sellers on ebay might point in the direction of them being illegal here in Oz.

he installed them him self
and the external mechanical entry can only be used if the central locking is pushed
its only for ifyour in an accident ambos or wateva can get u out
