Sounds like he`s talking about the steerring arm "Dowels"

heat with an oxy set & maybe grab with Vice grips & twist,,,

Why do yoiu want to get it out anyway??? If it`s stuck nice & hard like that then i reckon it`s a good thing, don`t disturb it

If it`s damaged then ok,,, rip it out & buy new ones & locktite them in because the last thing you would like is your steering arms comming adrift,,, not pretty results

Thanks for you ideas.
Yes they are the steering arm dowels.
You cant buy any replacement (that Iam aware of. Tried a few places). Would have to make them.
I will leave it in.
One is a bit scored. Will dress with a file.
Thanks

There are 2 hollow locating pegs in the top of the hub that locate the steering arm. They do come out because sometimes they will come out attached to the arm and sometimes they stay in the hub. I have never had a reason to pull one out though.

If the holes don't go all the way through (can't remember) you could put some grease in the hole and find a rod (bolt?) that is a good fit inside and give it a whack with a hammer. The grease should compress and force the peg out (hopefully). Might be messy.
