is there much difference between new and used trampolines. re building my first mini and comfortable seats are a must or so every one tells me don't know myself as yet. any advice on where to get new ones in NSW would be good. |

factory seats are not the most comfortable - the designer alec issigonis believed that the driver should be uncomfortable so that they payed more attention to the road  
If you want comfy there are a few options, if your on the tall side lowering the steering column also helps

second the comment on the steering column Hi back seats arnt to bad (i got the LS ones obviously) but even with that my legs are resting on the gear stick and and door trim, first mini had lower back ones and being a little on the tall side i found they didnt offer as much support for upper back area so ended quite sore after a long days drive, best option is just sit in as many as u possible can and make up ur mind that way, everyone is different and has different opinions |

I agree about the LS seats-They are the best orginal factory seats,especially on the long trips across to the East

Bahh , lowback seats are best , with the rubber trampoline removed The ones I used to use in the sports850 had knackered rubbers (there was a "net" of telstra rope under the rubber) so you sat in the seat rather than on it , they looked standard and original until you sat in them and the seats frame held your bum in on hard corners

I got a set from minisport about a year ago, work well and no problems, not easy to put on and not that cheap but it did the job. |

As for the original question I've never tried new ones , I still have a couple of usable spares that I have swapped around when buying and selling mini's (even if the seats are rusted out I save the covers and rubber ) . |

I don't understand this, I am 6'2" and my knees are already hitting the steering wheel. If I was to lower the column then my knees wouldn't fit under. I would then have to drive with a 90 degree angle between legs, with one against the door and the other on the gearshift. It would also make it harder to get in and out. Or am I missing something

i think its more so u can sit further away from the wheel, so move the seat further back again, im roughly 6"3 and my legs are cramped but my arms are at a full stretch, with the wheel lower down hence bringing it closer i can sit further back and hence stretch my legs out more, i could be wrong but im pretty sure thats the theory behind it all |

i never understood how lowering the steering wheel made you more comfortable... especially if you're tall |
