Post subject:  mini van battery location

G'day all.
I'm fitting the battery into my van for the first time and I'm wondering where the earth is supposed to connected to the body.
Do I just bolt the earth to the battery support panel or is there a better way of doing this?
Is there meant to be a tray, and how's it meant to be anchored down?
I'm using a sealed battery so next to no chance of a leak I hope.
Some pic would be great guys!! :D
I've looked through all my mags but can't get a good pic of behind the seats. :?

it was originally anchored by a strap that went around the battery, the remnants of mine are still there at either end, it looked like a stretchy fibre sort of thing... the earth went into the floor just beside the vertical support panel.

My van had a folded metal strap like a Mini sedan uses. The hold-downs went throught this and down on a 45 degree angle to holes in the support behind the battery just off the floor. Same way the battery is secured in my Moke. The elastic strap just held on a cardboard cover. No tray was used, so I borrowed one from a Gemini at the wreckers.

I'm pretty sure the earth cable screwed into a captive nut in the centre support between the upper floor and the tunnel. But it was a few years ago, so my memory may be soggy.

In the end I used a slimline DIN53L battery and moved it back into the "dead space" under the upper load floor with a hatch for access. That way I could move the seat back a couple more inches.

Thanks for the info guys.
I'll play around and see what I come up with.
Cheers.
