If you are rebuilding a gear box that may be sitting a while before being put together with the block and actually run, would you use a heavier oil say gear oil at 90W to lube it all as you put it together ? |

No just good ol' engine oil. what ever you use normally castrol, penrite fuch's ![]() |

I actually use "STP" when building gearboxes,,,whether they`re going to sit for a while or not |

n00b question: can the gearbox be rebuilt with the engine in the car? Either way is it costly? Yesterday my 2nd gear lost a lot of its feel... theres not much of a thunk when it goes in, and it only goes in right at the end of the shifter travel. |
