Hi Dylan,

Is your car hydro or dry suspension?

Is the height left front corner lower than the right front ? Might be a good excuse to fit hi-lo's or get the hydro pumped up (whatever you have) if it is .

it has pneumatic (air) shocks on the front, it didnt have the problem when i bought it and has only developed it in the last 2-3 months.. i got koni-sport shocks with full adjustability on the front and it didnt do a thing :S the left front was slightly lower than the right and that is what led me to believe it was the suspension but the new stuff hasnt really made too much of a difference :(

For those playing at home, hydro and dry refer to the suspension type, not the shock absorber type.
Shock absorbers have no affect on ride height, which causes the guard rub.

Air shocks are normally used on the rear of wagons/utes to compensate for big loads.

If your mini had air shocks on the front then they were probably put on to raise the ride height to get past the rubbing.

Cheap and effective way to raise the ride height is to add washers to the ball ends of the front struts/trumpets. Hi-Lo's will do it also but very few people adjust the ride height once they get it right (except for racing cars) so they are a bit of an overkill on a road car.

Pete

If this is the car you are talking about then it is dry or rubber, whichever term doesn't matter.

Ok, compare yours to the one below. This one is a hydro car, the hoses that are seen towards the firewall on either side heading towards the "shock tower" sort of area are the hoses that carry the hydrolastic fluid to the hydro bags.

Cheers

It could be rubbing for a lot of different reasons.
It could be the knuckle joints are shagged or it could be the castor rod bushes or it could be a lot of things.
It needs someone that knows what they are looking at to check it out.
