Very sad  to see one of my mini fleet leaving for a new home in Walcha, NSW.
It has been in our family since 1995 and used as a daily car by my eldest daughter, who has recently changed to another mini deluxe with 1100 engine.

Look ot for it on Saturday as it ventures north from Sydney.

Sad to see it's moving on. Hope it's going to a new home. I did the sums and couldn't justify getting it back. :(

A bit of history, this car was my very first car (confirmed by chassis number and various other clues). It was given to me in August 1990 for my 16th birthday by my grandfather. Before me it was owned by one family in Gosford who bought it new. Back then it had still had "Shoetrim Motors Morris" on the back window and was a tidy stock Deluxe, original plate AJR413. I sold it in November 1991 to a girl from Manly.

I visited the old girl just after Christmas at Michael's place. That was the first time I set eyes on the car since 1991.

Cheers,

looks like a lovely little car - the new one must be a corker to be chosen over it...

keep tabs on it Brett, maybe one day it'll need you back again

Poor mini, and such a nice one too.

Did you tell the new owner about ausmini? at least then you may be able to keep tabs on it that way too.

Hi All,

One of my daughter's was taking the photos, hence why they are so good.
Yes I beleive the car has been welcomed into a new family who are familiar with mini's and should look after it.
Sadly the replacement Mini deluxe we purchased last year was not as good as indicated in the photos  but I am working on a list of improvements. Already modified the head, replaced the exhaust system, buffed and polished the car, replaced all of the leaking brake cylinders, repaired the heater, replaced the tyres.......

And I always have my Cooper S to keep the smile on my face

It could have been me, but i was waiting for the Mini to go through the fence in one of the last pics..!!!

Thats a damn fine machine though. Its always sad to let go of a car once you are attached.

Hopefully, when i finish my K it will look somewhere near as good as that. really nice mate, very sad for you.
We should know who you bought the new mini off so we can be careful when buying stuff off them. They should be honest about things when they advertise.
