OK Everyone; Put your thinking caps on. This is not a quiz !!! I would like to know where this Tacho came from. (other than the third shelf at the back of my garage) Anyone have any ideas. It has 2 mounting tags, and I'm pretty sure it's from something british. Thanks, John.

After the made in the writing is obscured by the metal band under the glass. If I have no luck, I will pull it apart and have a look for part numbers. John. |

Looks like something out of a sportier Rootes product so probably out of a Sunbeam Rapier or similar. |

Anyway, with the "negative earth" deal I think you can't be wrong thinking it's old and British. It might be worth putting it up on a different old British forum?? |

I think it is from a Sunbeam Alpine or as someone else said a rootes product if the bezel on the outside was chrome it would definately be. |

Looks very much like the Hillman Hunter tach I fitted to my Mk 2 S in early 80's. |
