Is there anything anyone can say here that will make your mind up definitely?
Theres pros and cons of each setup.
Do you have the money to upgrade? A cheap set of 13s will set you back maybe $100 per tyre and $100 for rims (all new). A better setup would be rims and better tyres than cheapies, but may also include guard cutting, flares, brakes (if you're still on drums get discs).
When I decided to go 13s on the project car, I've also put in replacment cones, hi-los, new balljoints, disc rotors, drums, pads, wheel bearings, suspension rubbers, and the bearings in the raduis arms. Ditched the old shocks too, and fitted an adjustable rear end. Originanally I rebuilt tome 4 pot vented brakes, but didnt use them in the end.
Nothing I replaced was done because it was stuffed outright, would've been fine for the old ten inch wheels or even 12s, but for the jump to 13s I thought with all the extra weight and offset of the wheels I'd be better starting with a new setup so I can better gauge how it degrades over time.
For the mini driven more regularly, I run 12s with 145s. Cheap, light, look good, no crazy guard work or expensive arches. It just makes more sense to me that way.
