Hey guys does anyone know where i could get some CAD drawings for a 998cc or an 1100cc or there abouts? ive been looking for the last couple of days and i couldnt find anything so yeh i was hoping that someone here might have some or know where i can get them. Anyway thanks guys for any help

I reckon they wouldn't exist.
The engine block design was all long before widespread computer use, and if anyone did have them, they wouldn't let them out of their hands.
I mean, who hasn't thought of grabbing a cad model, emailing down to the local machine shop and having it replicated from alloy?

I'm sure Norm Sainty here in Sydney could CNC mill an A series out of billet alloy, he did a run of Lancia V4s a year or 2 ago for the pre-WW2 vintage brigade, their old sand cast V4 blocks were past their use-by date.
But... what is the point..... an A series isn't that heavy, but make it lighter and you'll lose traction!!

Not in CAD but you can import pics and trace over. Most of the images in the workshop manuals are actually perspective so useless for real dimensions. There is some artistic licence in these and I don't think it is a constant section plane. See how the clutch slave cylinder is at top.

Alloy A-Series? That isn`t a new idea and has already be made by BMC!
Sadly they only made a few prototypes of the alloy-engine.

Many alloy engines now are throw-away, they run chrome plated pistons direct in the alloy bore... much as a Briggs & Stratton mower engine does.

At least we can bore the hell out of an A series, they are made from Detroit wonder-metal..

And you dont have noticable electrolytic replacement with heavy metal either

if a CAD program existed

get them to machine one 5-10 % larger for bigger CC's and HP

or is that idea BS
