They were numerical numbers, maybe body #, maybe not. No prefix. He just showed me the bit he'd cut out of the firewall. Numbers were a smaller font than early cars. On a Clubbie the numbers that matter are on the VIN plate (if still there), and the radiator shroud. For a Clubbie (or any Oz Mini from `70 on) these should be the same number and they include the body type prefix. |

Do you have a number on the radiator shroud? Should be there. Same # and prefix as on VIN plate if you got one on the car. Use that. I'd disregard the number on the firewall. On a Clubbie it is NOT the VIN number. ![]() |

7500 M2 22 Last Clubby I saw had M2 22 but the number above it was different. Still 4 digits but started with 8. |

Piece of info about the Clubman GT, written by Stephan Dalton in 1984. ..."Stamped into the bulkhead, near the master cylinders, should be the Clubman GT body code, M23 with the body number directly below. The body number should be approximately 500 numbers before the car number. So as an example: If the compliance plate and radiator cowl panel were stamped YG 2S8 800, for want of a car number. The body number stamped into the bulkhead would be M23 with below it approximately 300...." I would say that M22 = Mini Clubman. hope this helps Gavin |
