i bought this off ebay. it was meant to be 22g440 as the box says but the part inside is different, it has 22g250 stamped on it. it is still a first gear but i dont know what it is from. any help would be greatly appreciated.

It doesn't come up in any of my books, but I don't have all the books!
Not many hits on Google either but one was for a Morris Minor forum.

22G440 comes up as 1st & 2nd speed sliding hub "A form" gears.
22A1021 comes up as 1st & 2nd speed sliding hub "B form" gears.
The Mini books and the Morris 1100 books only come up with these two numbers.

I can only come up with two ideas,
1) The part number in the book is different to the number stamped on the part (usually only one digit out, not way out like this)
2) It is out of a RWD Gearbox.

I looked in a pommy mini parts book and its not in there either,,,but could be a No Longer Available number as they don't list these numbers...Is there anyway you could compare it to other gears...if there the same dimensions and same amount of teeth etc.. Part numbers shouldn;t really matter...Cheers
